Original summary
A raid ended after wave 1
We decided to build a small village on a nearby island in our realm, only has one villager so far. some pillagers spawned while I was nearby so I messaged my friends to do this raid with me, we all got really prepared for a hard battle. On wave of pillagers came... then we killed them. Then the raid bar just disappeared.

Well we did another raid and it worked normally, I have no idea why it worked this time. The only difference is we brought home another villager. The island is about 25 by 35, with a tiny island nearby that is about 5 by 25.
Also there is a lot of shallow water around the island and I believe pretty much everything is valid for Pillager spawning, like I said we did another raid and it worked
Yea that is normal except for 1 layer water whether it is intention or not for raid itself.
Sometime it picks invalid block after 1 or more waves. It happens sometime but seems normal and possibly not a bug. Thanks for adding details. Let see what mods have to say. 🙂
Affects 1.20.32 Hotfix. Desert village is on an island. The raid may or may not start. If the raid starts it ends after first or second raid. The raid bar vanishes.
Confirmed this issue still happening in Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.132.
After successfully defeating 1 or 2 waves, the Raid bar fills up but then goes away when full instead of the next wave. This has happened at the raid farm where all villagers and beds are safe from raiding party.
Additional info: At my raid farm I started 5 raids using the regular Bad Omen (level 1) bottles. The first two raids had no issue, but raids 3 - 5 stopped after the 2nd or 3rd wave. In all instances, the Raid bar built up inbetween the waves but once full it dissapeared completely instead of triggering the next wave.
It is important to leave extra details such as what does surroundings look like; limited valid blocks such as 2 deep water all over area or plentiful valid blocks such as plain biome or any solid blocks enough to allow raid to spawn on. If there is very little valid blocks, there is chance the raid failed and stopped.
I noticed the game picks the location to spawn raid, if it's not valid block, the raid stopped. This is not like mob spawning algorithm that seeks a valid block to spawn random mob.
