Hand/held item takes too long to move back to default position after moving

Summary:
When moving and then stopping, the player's hand and held item take too long to move back to their default position. When just turning the camera and stopping, the hand and held item move back to their default position at the expected speed.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Enable View Bobbing.

  2. Move for a second and stop.

  3. Notice the time it takes for the hand and held item to move back to their default position.

  4. Turn the camera in any direction and stop.

Observed Results:
The hand and held item take noticeably longer to move back to their default position when the player stops moving than when just the camera is stopped.

Expected Results:
The hand and held item should move back to their default position at the same speed as when just the camera is stopped.

How to Reproduce:ย Walk forward with no item in your hand for about three seconds, then stop. You will notice that the hand takes quite a while to raise into the default position. This also happens when your holding an item.

Affects 1.16.0.55.

I think this also affects the players camera as well. Because when the player is no longer in motion, it takes a while for the players camera to return to its default position.
