textures are backwards or even upside down

Which blocks exactly? This is a new feature in 0.8.0 that prevents tiling of textures.

bedrock (looks really weird when its textures are flipped or upside down), some times the top of grass, dirt is affected too it looks really wierd. I saw the live stream but the volume was kinda low so I didn't hear if you said it was new or not.

I just checked out beta build 3 and bedrock lost its weird texture so bedrock isn't one of those blocks

Yeah this is as intended, we will probably make some of the textures work better with this system since it looks better when there is a lot next to eachother.
