Minecraft Skin on Switch will not save

The skin for my character will not save. I am required to be connected to the internet in order to have the option to try and get the skin loaded, but then I see a progress bar that never finishes. Please implement a character skin save feature that stores the data on my Switch. I do not want to have to be connected to the internet and deal with server issues when trying to play.

This issue is mostly resolved. The Switch does seem to save the player skin when logging in to the Microsoft account once, but content still does become unauthorized if the account can't be logged in to. It is an improvement however.
