I was making nether shortcuts and when going out of the portal in the overworld i was over a ocean biome it was getting dark and put my bed on the platform created by the portal and went to sleep(bed was exactly next to the portal) on waking i was directly teleported in the nether roughly 2000 blocks from my original portal

This just happened to me. I slept right before before entering the Nether and was teleported about 2000 blocks away.

Weird, can you include pictures of where the bed and nether portal are located?
As well as that have a opened map in offhand so you can see where north is (directions affect where you get up after going in bed) and how to recreate? maybe copy world, turn copy to creative and see if you can replicate it?
