Horses (or any rideable mob it seems) immediately face South when right-clicked on First Person. This glitch can also be replicated by using Toggle Perspective, and rideable mobs WILL face South once you change your perspective back to First Person.

've noticed the same thing happen when riding minecarts, but I don't know if it happens with boats aswell.
Duplicate of MCPE-55277. Also, positive Z direction (3rd coordinate) is South.
