whenever i open the minecraft app it freezes. I've deleted and restarted my ipad many times but it still wont work! It worked well before until this day when i was playing with my friend

Im also having the same issue it freezes since I crashed from a realm last night I allready tried reinstalling it but nothing seems to work.
I think it might have something to with Xbox live accounts

Well I saw that there was a lot of people just starting a report rather than joining the already existing discussion so surely they will know what’s happening. If it started last night and 12h later it still isn’t working then this doesn’t look good.

My son is able to play both survival and creative on his Nintendo switch but that has a game inserted so I’d expect that to work if it’s an Xbox live thing as he’s signed in on his Nintendo account.

For a paid game this sure is kind of questionable. I mean for the game to be down for so long yet there’s nothing from Mojang? That’s bad customer service imo.

Ok so I thought I'd give it another try and I got past the loading screen and a drop down bar appears saying Global resource reboot
Resources failed to load
then it froze up again.

If you have logged it upload the iOS crash logs:
Settings > Privacy > Analytics & Improvements > Analytics Data > Select the Minecraft with the latest date & time stamp i.e. minecraftpe-2020-01-18-103630.ips

I’m having this same issue with my iPhone iOS version as is my son on his iPad. It started last night as we were playing survival on my world and the game kept freezing for either my son or I, when it froze for me I had to force close which eventually kicked my son out then the same would happen to him and now this morning neither iPad or iPhone will load minecraft past the initial loading screen.
