When I trade with my farmers for melons they increase their price for no reason. I trade other items with them as well but they only increase prices on melons.

The report you have submitted is working as intended, mechanics of the game may change between updates.
Villagers increase prices for things that you trade a lot, which means they'll increase the price for any trade that's been fully used the next time they resupply.
