Ok, so this is not really about crafting, but here is what happens:
I craft an item (mostly a wood pickaxe) and after I place it in my HUD bar, it does not work, however pushing the X button (NOT what's on the controller) places it in the HUD on its own.
How-to:
Click the crafted item (after crafting) and try to place it in your HUD bar
BUT this does not always happen. I would say a 60% chance of not happening.
