1 block in the nether is 6 blocks in the overworld.

I believe that this is only happening in some worlds. One of my worlds has this issue. In Minecraft 1 block in the nether is 8 blocks in the overworld. In my world 1 block in the nether is 6 blocks in the overworld. This affects my gameplay because it is a little confusing connecting the nether portal.  You can see the problem here. https://youtu.be/PrPQJhkOBJ4

I made my world in Jan. 2019. The problem was there when I made the world.

Hi Giovanni,

I'm having to make some assumptions here so please correct me if I make a mistake.

From the date you've given for world creation I'm assuming this world was created back in the old PS4 edition and was converted to a Bedrock world on Bedrock release. As such, does this issue only affect your converted world or does it affect a new world?

Have you also tested it at a less extreme distance? I don't believe its related but Bedrock starts having some floating point issues at 20k blocks X and Z (which amplify the further out you go). Does the same issue happen on your world at ~10k X & Z?

Ionic

I had a similar issue in with converted worlds. For example, my main world started as a small world size on PS4, which was eventually expanded to medium. When we converted to Bedrock there was no way to properly calculate portal coords, it was always a random factor between 5 and 6.

Now, on our new world, it just has problems with coords to the north. This world was started after Bedrock, so no conversion.

Thanks for the additional info Caleb! and this is a local PS4 world (ie not multiplayer with another person hosting)?

Can test this out tonight and see if I get the same results.

If you're able to reliably replicate it, detailed instructions to reproduce the problem (so others can compare their results) will help narrow down the issue (and help get it confirmed).

Ionic

Hi, Ionic

I have tested it at less extreme distance. Most of the nether portals are near 0,0 and only go out by 2,000 blocks. I don't believe that this is a distance issue.

Thank you for your report!
