I haven't been able to interact with my pets since the update aquatic, witch released May 16th 2018 on bedrock. I transfered my world from the old Xbox one edition that 4j studios use to work on. I did this because that version of the game wasn't going to get updates anymore. Update after update & bug fix after bug fix, I've been holding on that this would get fixed but it hasn't yet. My pets are permanently setting but if I put them in water they run around aimlessly, assumingly forever, I can also put them in boats & move them around like that. I know it's just a game & my pets aren't real but they hold memories & I don't want to let them go. The only advice I've gotten, from others players dealing with this, is to kill them. This world is a single player world that me & my cousins play on. If you're a moderator or whoever that deal with but reports, please let me know when this gets fixed. And please do not put this under resolved when issue has not been fixed. I appreciate your time & for reading this, I hope this is one step closer to finally getting fixed, have an awesome day!Â

There are reports far older than that without a fix. The "affected versions" are still being updated and it has an internal Mojang tracking number (2 in fact) so they know about it, but it will be in a long list of bugs that need fixing.
While I completely understand this bug sucks and has impacted your gameplay, some bugs take longer to fix than others or are a lower priority. Please head over and vote for the existing bug to show Mojang it affects you as thats one of the best ways to make your bug known.
Just know, Mojang are aware and will look at it when they are able.

Thank u for responding, I really appreciate getting to know that the bug is actually getting thought of instead of forgotten, since it has been since May 2018. But yes I'm aware there are far older bugs, I actually watched a YouTube video about it. Thank u you Ecxo I really appreciate an actual response & if you're the Ecxo from YouTube. I've been subed since before the horses came into mc Xbox 360, I really like your videos.
