whenever I use a nametag in the beta, it just won't add the name above the entity. That's it.

I am having the same issue, rip hard work for nametags

Do you have "In-Game Player Names" disabled?? I think that also hides names from nametagged mobs.

Suggested name tags that are not working: "Gimme Gold!" and "gold" (from MCPE-94455).
