I built a large trading place for villagers and when I started zombifying them they just died. I tested this a couple times in creative and they still die. Please fix it asap I need books for cheap!

So, I'm pretty sure it depends what difficulty your world is in:
easy- 0% chance they become zombie villagers
normal- 50% chance they become zombie villagers
hard- 100% chance they become zombie villagers
