While in my strip mine, I accidentally only mined the bottom block and walked forward. I walked into the block and began suffocating. I was able to get out easily, and realized that it was not just a one-time thing and it kept happening. It also happens when I jump into a block, and so far it does not seem like it matters what block it is. This has not happened before, and I am not sure if it will happen if I close and reopen Minecraft, but for the time being it is still happening. I have attached a video showing and explaining what happens. Is there anything that might be causing this? Thanks.
Edit: The video doesn't play, it just does audio, so you can download it to see it.
Edit 2: It might be a chunk error because when I reloaded the chunk, it fixed.
