By now this is an incomplete issue, in this case, we need a picture to see what kind of bug its happening to your device, also we want to know if this is a duplicate or not.

no the keyboard on my device wont line up with the chat bar. so i cannot see what is happening. This needs to be fixed for my device

I can confirm this. Also I have provided you with a video in which you can clearly see that the keyboard does pop up but the chat bar isn't in line and so you cannot see what you are typing. I am using Samsung Galaxy C7 and have tested this on MCPE 1.1.0 and MCPE 1.2 beta. This bug is still present.
