[MCPE-69463] Crashing on beta RTX build

Hi there,

I have just signed up for the RTX beta and am encountering crashes when I play. Sometimes this will be within seconds of opening one of the demo levels, or minutes, totally random. Updated my Nvidia driver to 445.87 also. I have played minecraft Bedrock with non of these issues so seems to be something RTX related. I run other games fine such as Metro Exodus & Control with ray tracing enables no problems. I am running a i9 9700k, 2080 ti, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz, running off an SSD. Any help getting this issue resolved would be greatly appreciated. I have located the crash report which I will follow on with here:

I know D3DDRED2 is NVIDIA based driver issue. are you overclocked at all? try a clean install of drivers. Maybe even DDU I would recommend downloading DX runtime again from Microsoft as well as Visual C++ which is ucrtbase.dll. Other than that you said the game ran fine before RTX so other than a driver clean reinstall that's what I've got. Disregard if you've already done so.

EDIT 1: Also it is shown in other non-RTX games that overlays (Steam, Discord, Windows Games, MSI Afterburner) can help cause this type of crash

I am slightly OCing the GPU, but disbaled to overclock and still getting the same issue. I haven't tried reinstalling any drivers, i'll give that a go and also reinstall DX & V C++. Thanks for the advice, some steps to try and hopefully one will work

Experiencing the same issue the day i installed the driver, some RTX worlds would generate and play fine until video settings were changed.
Now: No RTX worlds will generate and will crash before leaving the loading screen.

I've updated driver, clean installs, reinstalled driver with clean install. Reinstall minecraft multiple times, exit and rejoin the beta program, restarts, changed computer OC's and settings to normal base settings. closed all background services once.

None of this allowed me to generate an RTX world. Always crashed.

OK, so I have reinstalled Visual C++, but cannot find an up-to-date version of DX, latest was 2011 as now it is included in windows updateand cannot be downloaded manually. I have reinstalled latest Nvidia driver 445.87, set GPU with no OC, reinstalled Minecraft. I am still getting the same issue, CTD after loading RT worlds. The neon world it crashed immediately, however I seem to get a little longer out of the other maps ranging from 10 seconds to a few mins before the same CTD happens again. So fustrating!

Thanks alot dude for doing that legwork, I'll try than and if nothing works i guess i'll wait for the next driver update and hold off on RTX minecraft =[. Thanks again Nathanael, and thanks Shane for your advice too, really appreciate the responses guys

Had this same issue. The fix above regarding downloading/installing the DIRECTx SDK which includes the Runtime environ. fixed it for me! Thanks for the help.
