On Survival Mode (not sure about creative) I will go to my crafting table to craft a cake with 3 milk buckets, 3 wheat, 1 egg, and 2 sugar. I craft the cake and no cake appears in my inventory, but I do get 3 empty buckets back.

We're actually already tracking this issue under MCPE-63228 so I've requested this report be resolved and linked as a duplicate.
