I play Minecraft pocket edition, and whenever I try to make a cake, it takes my items, but doesn’t give me the cake. It takes the milk, sugar, and wheat. It gives me back my buckets, but I don’t get the cake afterwards. Is anyone else having this problem?
Workaround
You should be able to craft cake successfully in survival mode if you keep at least one empty bucket (but not a full stack) in the first available spot in your hotbar when crafting cake. If you experience dropping items from the crafting table, relogging should fix that.

The cake is destoryed by the buckets once its crafted the buckets go back in your inv

Confirmed on iOS. Can anyone confirm if this affects other platforms?
The behavior with cakes and buckets is now just like honey blocks and glass bottles (MCPE-58579). If you already have a non-full stack of buckets in your inventory, then the buckets will go there and the cake will go to the next spot. However, when you do not have any empty buckets, the buckets from the crafting grid are sent to the same spot as the cake and they overwrite the cake.
I would expect this issue to affect any crafting recipe that returns a container in addition to a crafting product. Somebody help me think of other examples.
Did the attempt to fix MCPE-58579 in 1.14.30 just add an inventory update after every crafting iteration? What the fix needs to do is to let the inventory update in between crafting outputs when a single recipe outputs more than 1 kind of item.

Confirmed on Windows 10.
Also, observed that in survival mode the buckets overwrite the cake, but in creative mode the cake overwrites the buckets. This is, again, the same behavior as bottles and honey blocks, which I have just commented on MCPE-58579.

This bug appears to be fixed in the latest beta version, which will be included in a future update when that is ready for full release (no specific date can be given). We will leave this ticket open as a point of reference until the fix has been fully released.

Also after happening every time you craft something it gets thrown out your inv

The glitched inventory causing you to throw crafting products can be resolved by relogging.

Everything seems alright before a cake is crafted. As shown in this video, after a cake is made, the bug starts and all crafted items fall on the ground. Of course reload game can solve this problem. However, once you making cake again, bug appear then.

I have the exact same problem! I try to craft the cake and it spits the empty buckets at me and doesn’t let me craft it.

Same issue here as well in Bedrock edition on iOS.

It's happened to me twice now:
The first time was in https://youtu.be/C0stz7Nz_6o at 5:15.
The second time was just a few moments ago, when I tested it to confirm that the bug still exists.

I have this issue as well. The problem is not that the items fall on the floor, it's that the cake itself is not crafted, even after the items are consumed. Keeping one extra empty bucket in the inventory does not help.
This is the same glitch I get when trying to craft honey blocks.

The empty bucket needs to be ahead of any empty spots in your inventory so that the game will “find” it and stack the leftover buckets there before it can smash your cake with them. The first spot in your hotbar should always work. I apologize for the lack of clarity on that. I’ve updated the workaround panel.

And yes, the same bug occurs with crafting honey. That is being tracked at MCPE-63461, and I have a video on that ticket demonstrating the workaround.

I can´t do a Cake too, in a Realm only, in Android.
Also after do a cake sometimes, bug the game (throw me the sticks that I try to make it with bamboo and throw when i made sugar too) (Note: I have empty spots in the inventory)

I have same issue but the solution given didn't work. I empty everything I hold and yet cake appear a second then disappear. This happen on android version. The honey block did not dissappear when craft to me

@Yeoh Jin Foo the workaround is not to empty your inventory. The workaround is to keep 1 empty bucket in your first hotbar spot.

I wish I saw this before I posted the issue i was having with the cake disappearance like others have done before me. Im so glad I can make cake now because it was starting to get annoying when I was making them and they were just disappearing. Thank you for the help 🙂

Same thing happening here. Thought me shift clicking it made it disappear so I tried just left clicking on it but it still disappeared. happening on Windows 10 1.14.30
Is this an issue for any players in the latest beta (1.16.0.60)?

Nope, the glitch itself seems to be gone along with the secondary exploit/side-effect that went with it

I'm assuming the reopening is temporary, will this be marked as fixed once the full release comes out?

The beta fix version is shown above and the ticket will be resolved when the fix is include in a release version.

I experienced the same thing. I was on my iPad, trying to craft sugar from honey and I didn't get my sugar or my bottle back. Total ripoff.

It happened to me as well (on iPhone 8 ios 13.5.1) in survival. But it also happened on a server, when I had to make a cake, that worked but after login back it wasn't in my inventory anymore (the other items was in my inv)
