My sister and I play together a lot on Minecraft. I typically join her worlds because every time she tries to join my worlds, it gives her an “Unable to connect to world” error. We both have the same version, but I use iPhone and she used iPad. We use the same internet connection.

We're actually already tracking this issue under MCPE-36190 so I've requested this report be resolved and linked as a duplicate.
