New atmospheric sounds are really loud - there doesn't seem to be a way of turning them off or down without loosing game play noises. Surely you didn't mean to do this?
I liked the sound to start with - but after a while its headache educing.
Plus when you play a music disc TWO sounds play, the music disc tries to play over the game sounds but the new sounds are louder! Hardly background sounds.
The noise the netherrack makes when you walk on it or the sound of the quartz mining is AWFUL - sorry - but it sounds like wet sponges.

you can lower it by lowering the music in the audio, the netherrack sound is the same as the one on java
