Logged in and a shulker box full of items and a bed I had which had both been placed had disappeared

Just before I logged off yesterday I placed a shulker box with items in and a bed next to it so I could start work on a project today. When I logged back in the dirt I had placed to mark the perimeter was still there and the surrounding area was the same but both the shulker box and bed had disappeared. I thought maybe it just hadn't saved them being there but they weren't in my inventory and all the resources I used to make the items in the shulker box were also gone so it clearly saved them being made and placed but they're just not there.
