Hello. I am concerned that there may be an issue with thunderstorms appearing naturally on Minecraft Bedrock for Xbox one. I have played on a realm and other single-player worlds for the past 6-8 months on a regular basis, and I have not seen a single thunderstorm on the realm (which I play on the most) or my other worlds. I have seen some regular rain storms, but I have not seen a single thunder/lightning storm. I did do a search to see if there has already been an issue like mine submitted, and the one I found was said to be resolved. However, I am concerned that this may still be an issue. That is why I am submitting this. I can't really submit a screenshot for this specific issue, but I hope that my description is adequate enough. I have been trying to get mob heads with channeling, and it has been frustrating to wait so long and still not see a single thunderstorm.

Hello. Are you asking if we have used command blocks on this world? The realm is a regular survival world with no cheats on. There is no way for anyone to access command blocks on this realm. From what I can see about the realm, it is just a normal world, except that I haven't ever encountered a thunderstorm. I am positive that no one has messed with the world's settings or with command blocks that could cause this issue.
I have had no thunderstorms in my world on the xbox one, and it is not an imported or converted world, it is a survival world and just either rains or is sunny, nothing else, and I need creeper heads for my banners...
Do this test: do not sleep at all and go through all rain periods in peaceful day and night. (optional creative) Do not exit and rejoin. Sometime rain has a chance of becoming thunderstorm for a short time before return to rain. Also, there is a 0.5 to 7.5 days delay between thunderstorms.
Again, do not sleep. Try more than 7.5 days for better chance of seeing at least 1 thunderstorm event.
The reopen was when @unknown first asked a question, set the resolution to Awaiting Response, and OP replied, thus reopening the ticket. Tickets are usually left open as a point of reference until the full release of an update, unless the bug appeared in a beta and got fixed in a later beta for the same release (where it is Resolved at that point in time).
I just found this ticket for the first time after 1.17.2 was released. But as info, I wanted to mention that in 1.16.220 I spent a lot of time (~10 days IRL) working underground below my base without sleeping and I heard several thunderstorms during that period. In fact, when I finally came back up I discovered that one of my dogs and a chunk of my top floor were missing, presumably the result of a lightning strike and subsequent fire. So either this problem is limited to Realms (which isn't likely) or people are sleeping frequently enough to prevent them (because rain and thunderstorms mostly happen at night).
Fortunately, Mojang apparently found what they think will fix it.
On 1.17.2, I've seen one thunderstorm in over 100 in-game days (not sure exactly how many days as I'm not sure how to find that on Xbox one) and while I don't mind, this seems a lot more infrequent than it should be.
Hi Caoimhe,
Many servers and realms introduce command block sleeping systems that prevent rain and storms, are you sure this isn't the case for your world?
I am unable to reproduce any issues with storms in a standard world.
