Summary:
Using bone meal on crimson/warped nylium does not spread sprouts/roots/fungi to grass blocks/podzol/coarse dirt/dirt.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Place crimson/warped nylium next to grass blocks/podzol/coarse dirt/dirt

  2. Use bone meal on the nylium

Observed Results:
The sprouts/roots/fungi do not spread to the blocks.

Expected Results:
They should spread to the blocks, just like in Java Edition.

Relates to MC-175232 which is resolved as works as intended which means that this should be a bug.

However, this issue is Working as Intended.

This will be fixed in Java (MC-175232 has been reactivated). Whichever block you bonemeal should be the one that gets 'also grown' around. So if you bonemeal a Crimson Nylium, only other Crimson Nylium blocks should grow things. If you bonemeal grass, only grass blocks nearby can grow things..

Please note that mechanics of the game may change between updates.
Things such as graphics, sounds, world creation, biomes, redstone, villagers, and animals may not work the same in current versions.
