Spawning at Y=-1 after clicking bed

I exited the nether and set my respawn point by clicking on a bed (daytime) then went in the water and was killed by a drowned with a trident.  When I respawned I fell out of the world.  The x/z coordinates are the same as my bed, but y coordinate seems to be y=-1.

Checked in database, and my spawn coordinates are correct, but I'm just appearing under the bedrock.  See attached files

I experienced this before when exiting the end by gliding through exit portal on elytra.

I have the same issue, and didn't do anything. I got killed by illagers next to my house. My bed is in an empty room and I have never had this issue before. If anyone can help resolve this issue it will be greatly appreciated. I am currently working on fixing the situation. This happened while beta testing.

Were there any pressure plates or other non-full blocks around your bed?

migrated

Yes. About 3 blocks away from it there are 2 birch pressure plates.
The entire roof is made of oak slabs 4 1/2 blocks above. If I remove the slabs and pressure plates, will it be fixed? I will try with a friend to be sure.

A friend just broke the pressure plates and everything is perfect again, thanks for the help!

Lol that wasn't even me answering, but yes, this is spot on.  My main base is a minimalist 1x3x3 chamber with a bed and just enough room for me to not suffocate when I sleep, with a pressure plate in front to open and close the door.

IconicEcko Thanks so much for pointing this out!  I would have never guessed that was the issue 🙂
