I was inside the Nether in MC Beta Xbox, I decided to use my elytra on survival mode while using fireworks, once I used them I noticed that I kept on taking damage and was killed by this. I sincerely hope you can fix this.

However, unfortunately this report is Incomplete.
It does not contain enough information and as such, we've unable to reproduce the bug. As Marek mentions, some fireworks will damage the player if used for propulsion.
Please have a read through the Guide on creating bug reports and make sure to include enough information in a new report so that a volunteer can easily reproduce the bug you describe.

You are using wrong fireworks. From wiki:
"Note that not all types of fireworks are appropriate for use. Only firework rockets can be used. Though fireworks with firework stars can be used, the player takes blast damage if they use it in flight."
