On both my iOS iPhone and iPad I cannot connect to my friends’ worlds and I have not been able to for at least a year. It shows the number of people within range of my WiFi on the top of the friends tab but there are no worlds to click on in the friends tab. Other people can join my worlds and my WiFi works for my friends with iOS devices but this happens to my phone and iPad no matter what WiFi I am on. I tried to attach a screenshot of this but there was a message in red that said it could not read a token.

Since I reported this issue I have figured out the solution! I think what I did was go onto the x-box website on my parent’s account, view my own account from my parent’s account, and change the permissions settings so that ‘join friends’ worlds’ is on. A simpler solution though is to log out of your x-box account on Minecraft so that the permissions of your x-box account don’t apply.
