Hi, today in my world I was up on a sky base which was around 240 on the y coordinate, and I tried to jump off into a lake but I ended up missing. After I died, I realized that none of my items that were in my inventory that were not equipped all disappeared. They could not have despawned because I took like maybe a minute to get to my stuff, but only my diamond armour was there.
Other info about the world that this happened on is that it was raining when this happened I believe, the world size is around 1.2GB. I was also able to recreate this again when my cooked chicken disappeared but I, unfortunately, was not recording that and have no way to show exactly what happened. I also haven't been able to recreate this again after trying a couple of times.
