When in a crafting grid, crafting a honey block you only get empty bottles and no honey block. After trying to craft a block of honey anything else you try to craft, your player drops the crafted item. They only way to prevent you player from throwing crafted items is by leaving the world and rejoining it. I currently do not know if this happens in multiplayer servers or realms.
