I have recently purchased an 11 inch iPad Pro 2020 and I have found out of the box that minecraft is incredibly laggy. This is a brand new iPad yet for some reason my iPad mini 4 ran better on it. The max chunks setting I can set to is 8 chunks before the game begins to become laggy and I can only also do a simulation distance of 4 chunks before lag ensues. I am quite disappointed and would really like for my iPad to be an effective device to play minecraft. And I don't believe it's the iPad fault.
This issue of lag is not occurring with any other games on the device, like for example, I tested the game fortnite and it was not laggy in the slightest with all of the settings on the highest.

if your device only recently came out then its possible that the game has not been optimised for it yet. the ipad 2020 isnt especially powerful from looking at the specifications but it should be more than sufficient for minecraft.
