When creating a block (any kind), one of this two things happen:
1) The block jumps of the crafting table.
2) You lose the materials (honey bottles, coal, redstone, lapis lazuli, etc), and don't get the respective block.

I have had this happen to me as well but only on honey blocks which basically means I can't make honey blocks to use in survival mode. It is frustrating so hopefully a fix comes out soon
