Wrong villager in igloo basements

Villagers in igloo basements are sometimes leather workers instead of clerics due to the fact that there is a cauldron in said basement. Also when I cured the zombie he became an armorer, and I have no clue why because the only other workstation nearby is a brewing stand.

What do you mean by an “admirer?” That’s not a profession.

Sorry I meant armorer, autocorrect hates me

Were you able to change his profession by breaking and replacing the brewing stand?

I didn’t check, but it is a long existing feature for villagers and zombie villagers in igloos to be clerics by default.

The reason I asked about changing the healed villager's profession is that I was thinking your issue might be covered by MCPE-48712. However, I can see from your response that that's not your concern. I also tested by going to a new igloo and healing the zombie villager, and it did not start locked in a profession with XP.

The default you're referring to appears to only be a Java Edition default. Here is what the wiki says:

In Java Edition, the generated villager is always unemployed, even though there are some job site blocks like brewing stand or cauldron around. However, if the player breaks the iron bars in front of the villager, it finds one of the job site blocks and changes its profession to cleric or leatherworker. The generated zombie villager always has the profession of cleric.

In Bedrock Edition, the villager is with a random profession while the zombie villager is unemployed; although it can change its profession to cleric or leatherworker after being cured, due to the presence of the brewing stand and cauldron.

However, even this appears to be incorrect. In the igloo I just visited, both the villager and the zombie villager had random professions (butcher and cartographer). Also, they are not able to change professions unless you place a bed close enough for them to link to first. The issue of needing to be in village defined by a bed to link to a workstation and change professions is reported at MCPE-73804 and you can vote for that ticket if you feel it's a bug that should be addressed. I'm sorry to have to tell you, though, that this ticket does not meet the criteria for Java-Bedrock feature parity bug. Bug reports for feature parity are only accepted for features that were added in 1.14 or later. If you want to continue pursuing this issue, you make make a request at the Feedback Site.
