Still an issue according to MCPE-145836.
This is still a problem today, almost two years later. I don't think this is a performance issue on phones, but a bug caused by the app. Once I open a singleplayer world it works fine, but the menu is still laggy and opening a realm is laggy as well. Please fix this, this bug has existed for years.
It happens to me too, also on iOS. only if I was previously signed in.
