I have put 2 brown mooshroom and 2 red mooshroom in an animal pen outside of my house. I decided to go out exploring, and when I returned, the brown mooshrooms despawned but the red ones were still there. I decided to wait for a thunderstorm again to get 2 more brown mooshroms and named them, ensuring they don't despawn. I also breeded them together to get a baby. But they still despawned after I went exploring and came back. The red mooshrooms were still there, unaffected.
Right when I updated to 1.16.0, it happened again. It also seems that feeding a flower to them doesn’t seem to prevent them from despawning either.

Why, yes. I did the following with a group on them:
Gave them a flower
Gave them a name tag
Just let them be (no interaction)
I also bred them to have a baby brown one to ensure that thunder-spawned ones are not the only ones affected.
Every time I try to intentionally do it, it doesn’t happen. But when I don’t expect it to happen and just go out exploring, the brown mooshroom despawn when I come back. Since I am testing this out on a survival world, I will have to wait for thunder again to test if it still affects 1.16.20.
Still affects 1.16.50, finally happened after a while of testing. I also noticed that villagers also despawn, even if they have a name or not. Could be same bug or a different one, not sure.
