When the nether update released I went on Minecraft and my friend’s world showed 5 max players instead of 8. My friend’s world has 7 players playing but 2 can’t join because of this bug.

I tried /setmaxplayers 8 on PS4. In game it says it has changed to 8 players, but still no more than 5 can join. Please fix this!
This is really annoying. Me and my friends want to start a survival world, but there’s more than 5 of us. We don’t want to enable cheats because we still want achievements and for it to feel legit. Also even if you do /setmaxplayers in a cheat enabled world, you need to have your PlayStation friends as Microsoft friends to be able to play with them. Please fix this soon!
I have this same problem, thank you to correct it quickly it's annoying for survival without cheats.
Would love to know when this is fixed so I can host UHC's with my friends again. 5 Players just inst enough, I never got chance to use the /setmaxplayers command in 1.14 so was looking forward to having more than 8 of my mates play to make it more interesting. Hope it's all good very soon

The exploit only works on worlds that don't have trophies enabled. I have been hosting survival MC night for over 6 years with a group of friends. Now, suddenly, we can have 3 less people on it, unless we want to disable trophies (which we DON'T want). This is really unacceptable. I can't believe this doesn't have a higher priority!
Is there any updates on this? Me and my friends quit playing since we can"t all play survival together.
Now 1.16.2 is released on Bedrock. Does anyone know whether it's sorted? Havn't been able to try as I don't have more than 5 people on PS4 as I play with players cross platform and use the /setmaxplayers command
Seems to be working, me and 6 friends were able to play together on PS4. Although cross platform seems bugged now with the Microsoft account issues across platforms. No longer able to play with a friend on Switch since 1.16.2.

It looks as though this issue is now closed as far I can tell. Well done all for getting there attention to sort it.
this is on ps4, you can only have 5 players join the world without setting max players and even if you do, only people with microsoft accounts can join! Please fix this bug soon
