I recently found out you could write down coloured-text in-game so I decided to use the coloured-text as my username. (In order to perform this action you hold down & then a button pops up then you press any number then write down the words you wanted to write) So I changed the colour and I wrote down my username and I was expecting it to be in colour but when I typed my first letter in I couldn't type anything down in the text-box. So my username is an empty space.

So how can I restore my username back? Do I have to delete minecraft then install it again or wait for the next bug fix update?
AMAN4700, this is a different problem than colored names gets you kicked from servers (that's MCPE-8736). The problem here is after a colored name, the user cannot type or change their name. The current temporary solution is to fix/replace your options.txt to correct the name or to uninstall and reinstall the app (this will not affect your singleplayer worlds, but you will have to reenter your servers).
Other folks reading this, please post any further comments on MCPE-8750 and vote for that issue to get it fixed sooner than other bugs.
The game isn't designed for colored names. shoghi even said, " Do not add colored text to your names: servers check for invalid characters and will disconnect you. Only a-z A-Z 0-9 and _ are allowed."
