I cannot edit my username, when I try to change it, the name bar is blank with no blinking underscore. Nothing happens when I type and I can't join severs because of this. This can't also affect signs. To force this you have mess around with colored text and then backspace a few times and then it should stop working...

The current temporary solution is to fix/replace your options.txt to correct the name or to uninstall and reinstall the app (this will not affect your singleplayer worlds, but you will have to reenter your servers).
Please post any further comments on MCPE-8750 (which I've reopened) and vote for that issue to get it fixed sooner than other bugs.
This also affects 0.11.1, but it wouldn't let me put that.
