A player will hear any sounds the host hears.
For example, I had the guest at least 100 blocks away from the host, and when the host broke a log, the guest would hear a log breaking sound (even though they themself did not break a log). The same happened with fire sounds.
Resolving as a dulpicate of MCPE-8795, in favor of the more general account there.
