Hi, I have been building and experimenting with command blocks in a world( with cheats, switched between game mode a lot). I enchanted a trident with the following enchantments:
1.impaling 5
2.channeling
3.loyaly 3
4. unbreaking 3
5.mending
it is also named( taser), and I ran the following command in a repeat(purple) command block: /execute @e [type=thrown_tridend](maybe a ~ ~ ~here) summon lightning_bolt ~+1 ~+1 ~+1
I tried throwing it around and no problem, but when I got struck by lightning and died(the trident hadn't come back yet),I respawned and went back to the location in 2 minutes but the trident was nowhere to be found. I looked for it for another 3 mins but still no trident.
I tried this 2 more times but the trident already came back and is dropped on the ground. So I couldn't get a video. Can you please try it yourself?
steps:
1.trident
2.enchant with above enchantments, then name it taser with no Caps
3.run command block on repeat with Redstone with above command
3.get to 1 and a half hearts
4. throw at floor 3 blocks in front
5.die( to lightning)
6. gone

If you die while a loyalty trident is on its way back to you, the trident immediately drops as an item. You can see it in this video where I kill myself next to my respawn point:
[media]With all the fire created by the repeating lightning bolts, your trident may have fallen into fire when you died. If it did, it would be destroyed by the fire.
