I was digging a diamond strip mine, which as you know is most efficient at y coordinate 12, when I discovered that there was a thunderstorm above ground without having to leave the mine. This was because I was able to hear the lightning strikes from so far down, and they sounded like they were right on top of me! It scared the living daylights out of me when the first bolt struck!
I know that you had fixed the issue in the 1.16 beta but idk if the fix made it all versions.

We're actually already tracking this issue at MCPE-83601, so I will resolve and link this ticket as a duplicate.
That ticket has already been resolved as working as intended, which means this is not considered a bug and won't be fixed. Please do not leave a comment on the linked ticket.
