I have the materials to make netherite gear but it won’t let me make it. I tried doing it manually. Because the gear doesn’t show up in the crafting table when you type in the name

It's not a bug, you can not craft netherite gear in the crafting table.
You have to combine a netherite ingot with a diamond tool/armor in the smithing table
