When my brother signed in to Minecraft PE with his Xbox account, his custom skin disappeared, and in the skin selection, the only skins were Alex and Steve, which seem to have overridden his other skins. I had had the same problem, but my skin reverted back to the last non-custom skin I used. Also, my skin eventually reverted back to normal, whereas his didn't. My skin seemed to have recovered after I tried (badly) to re-create it. I tried making another custom skin on my brothers account but it did not work?
Is this the same bug, and can you fix it/them.

But, that statement is consistent with the fact that the skins were replaced with the classic skins 🤔

I'm having the same issue. Sure, I'm on my computer using the 'Unofficial Linux Launcher,' but it's the same for me.
Also, if you just select a 'Classic Skin' without any Cape or emotes selected it saves properly.
Edit: The previous statement seems to be inconsistent on whether the game properly saves the skins or not. Bedrock is such a fun platform 🙂
