Cannot add friends in iPad edition

I am no longer able to add friend on the Minecraft iPad edition. As soon as you tap on add friend, the app crashes and closes.

I have deleted the app and reinstalled and it still doesn't work. I have also downloaded to my iPhone and have the same problem
