I can't type anything in the username/name box! I tried to do the colored text trick and now I see blank spaces every time I time something! Now I can't play multiplayer and join servers! Help me!

I tried to do the colored text trick for my Minecraft PE version 0.11.1 and my username disappeared! I can't type anything on it! Please help. I want to join multiplayer accounts.

The current temporary solution is to fix/replace your options.txt to correct the name or, if you can't do that, to uninstall and reinstall the app (this will not affect your singleplayer worlds, but you will have to reenter your servers). Please post any further comments on MCPE-8750 (which I've reopened) and vote for that issue to get it fixed sooner than other bugs.
