Water texture rises above top surface of waterlogged leaves/top-slabs

When water or a water-source-logged block is placed below leaves or buttons, the water texture rises to fill the block space. If this is tested using a waterlog-able block, the water will render as an overlay to the block.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a 3x3 platform of full blocks

  2. Break the block in the center

  3. Place water in the center

  4. Place any leaves in the space

  5. Place another one on top of the center leaf

Original Description

Could not repro on win10 version. What device was used to reproduce the issue?

GoldenHelmet

Confirmed for 1.16.221 Hotfix on Windows 10. The effect is easier to see if you use a top slab for the waterlogged block. The water can be seen through any transparent block, for example glass blocks or buttons.

The best way to reproduce this is with the waterlogged block at the top of a chunk section, i.e. at Y = 15, 31, 47, 63, 79, etc. However, the effect is visible from farther away with waterlogged blocks at any Y-level. See
