End gateway didn’t work, led to me losing full set of maxed netherite armor, weapons, and tools

Literally 15 minutes ago, my friend and I were playing in the end, about to enter a gateway precariously over the void. However, I had built a small platform around it. As we threw our ender pearls, two things went wrong- he was left stranded in the outer end without a gateway (which isn’t a glitch, just a major inconvenience), and I was spit back out of the gateway on the original end island, on the small platform. I know I went through because there was a brief pause, like the game normally does when entering a gateway, but I didn’t go to the outer end, I was just teleported back out where I started. However, my player was at the edge of the block when I got teleported. The ender pearl spawned an endermite, which proceeded to knock me off the platform and into the void, where I promptly lost the full set of maxed netherite gear I worked 100+ hours to get. I know this issue is listed as a bug already, but it was marked as resolved, and it just happened to me, unraveling 100 hours of work. Please fix this so other players don’t have to deal with this too
