if you enderpearl straight up, you can glitch through solid blocks. If there is open space above the block you glitch through, you will teleport in to the open space. Otherwise, you will get stuck in the wall. I don't think that is how enderpearls are supposed to work.
How to recreate:
1: look up in a cave
2: throw an ender pearl up towards the celing

This is works as intended, as the game calculates block hitboxes in a slightly wrong way, and this is the main way to get on top of the nether roof by enderpearling through bedrock. even though you cant build on the nether roof.
