Spiders don't always attack at night.

Spiders at night are not hostile all the time, from time to time they are neutral or neutral for a short period of time, attacking the player if he stays close to her for a while. I don't know if it effect the spider cave.

I have noticed that spiders are one of the least observant mobs in the game.  Approach a zombie, a skeleton or a creeper and as soon as you are within detection range they will agro on you even if their back was turned.  Spiders on the other hand are clueless.  If you are not in their direct line of sight they won't attack.  If you find a seemingly passive spider at night try moving into his field of view.  They probably aren't neutral, they just don't know you are there.

There were moments when I stood in front of the spider and even then ignored me.

Note that in Java edition it is actually normal and intended (MC-48532) for most hostile mobs to have a small amount of delay before detecting the player, so the issue for Bedrock edition would be whether the delay is intentional for the spider (and by extension should be ported to other hostile mobs) or an unintended feature.

Yes, still affects 1.16.201.
