Soul torches do nothing

They have light level of 10, so they only prevent mob spawns 2 blocks away.

There was only 2 blocks in between

Were the mobs spawning on the 2nd block away or the 3rd block away?

No they spawned right in between the torches

What do you mean by right in between the torches? How far were the torches apart?

2 blocks apart

Please attach a video of this happening.

Dunno how to get a video since in the area its in is small and out of sight for spawning distance and I'm not sure if the place is affecting it or not but here is where it was (insert soul torches for the normal ones, had to change them out to make it safe)
