My village's Nitwits (3 of them) wandered into the Nether and got stuck there. I shoved one into the portal, but he just stands there and doesn't teleport.
What I expected to happen was...:
When I pushed the Nitwit into the portal, he should have teleported to the overworld
What actually happened was...:
He stood in the portal just staring at me (what a Nitwit!)
Steps to Reproduce:
Find a villager in the Nether (I assume this also would work if you push the villager into the Nether intentionally, but these guys wandered in on their own).
Push the villager into the portal.
Notice that villager does not teleport back to the overworld.
Note: upon completely exiting/reloading the game, the one I shoved in the portal appears to be back in the overworld (either that or a new Nitwit spawned in the village and the ones in the Nether despawned...)
Update: It doesn't happen every time. I was able to push another one through with no problem.

there is a 15 second cooldown before they can teleport back, if they go in the portal before 15 seconds is up the cooldown resets

These guys wandered into the Nether on their own, I didn't move them there. It took me longer than 15 seconds to push the guy into the portal.
