When trying to enter a realm that has been updated it appears as if it hasn't been updated sending to the could not connect:Outdated server! exiting the application will cause the console to freeze if done on/after this screen

I'm on the Switch, updated to latest version of Minecraft. Not on any Beta. Chose to join realm. Loads for awhile, then receive message "Could not connect: Outdated server! Realms Update Pending Within 48 Hours" Have tried multiple times over last day or so.
Once I received a different message: "You need to authenticate to Microsoft services." Next time I tried, it went back to the "Outdated server" message.
I've uninstalled Minecraft twice, deleted my save data - no change.
Simultaneously having issue where closing Minecraft locks up the Switch, forcing a hard reboot, as reported in MCPE-95621.
